MVIC has the pleasure to welcome another new member company in our consortium: Pentahedron with owner and consultant Prof. Stefan Ulvenlund. Stefan has an extensive background within formulation technology and device development, with focus on liquid formulations for nebulisation and nasal inhalation. This strengthens MVIC’s expertise in the nebulisation and nasal areas and creates new opportunities for our customers.
Stefan Ulvenlund is an experienced professional with a diverse background in research, development, and consultancy. He recently transitioned to independent consulting through his company, Pentahedron Consulting AB, after serving as Research Director at Enza Biotech. He also holds a part-time professorship in Formulation Technology at Lund University.
Ulvenlund’s career began at Astra Draco and AstraZeneca R&D Lund, where he worked in Product Development from 1997 to 2010, focusing on liquid formulations for inhalation. He provided technical and scientific support for products like Pulmicort Respules and Rhinocort Aqua, gaining extensive expertise in formulation and production of inhalation liquids.
He also specializes in the functionality of complex excipients and conducts research on novel surfactants, which has led to the development of novel types of sugar-based surfactants. This research formed the basis of the company Enza Biotech, which he co-founded in 2012. After Enza’s acquisition by Croda International in 2017, Ulvenlund served as an R&D Specialist at Croda, further enhancing his knowledge of excipients and drug delivery systems.
Additionally, Ulvenlund has consultancy experience from his time at CR Competence, where he was CSO and co-owner until 2017, working in pharmaceutics, cosmetics, and personal care.
Pentahedron with Stefan Ulvenlund is an important addition to MVIC and strengthens our expertise in the nebulisation and nasal delivery areas.
