FS Dynamics, an MVIC partner, has developed advanced CFD models for accelerating product and process development within nasal delivery. These are utilized for simulating nasal drug delivery including the formation and movement of liquid films in the nasal cavity. These models complement in-vitro testing and gives a deeper insight into the actual dynamic process of drug delivery to the nose. The effects of how spray characteristics, surface coating, device position and orientation as well as head position effects drug deposition and surface coverage can be realistically simulated using these models.
