The MVIC member company Toxicology Knowledge Team (TKT) Sweden, has appointed a new CEO in November, Anna Steneholm.

Background: Anna Steneholm – From Specialist to CEO with a Strong Customer Focus
Anna Steneholm, PhD, ERT holds a Toxicology Master’s degree (2000) and a PhD in inhalation and respiratory toxicology (2018) from Karolinska Institutet. Her doctoral thesis, “Innate immune airway responses after exposure to ultrafine and ambient particles: in vivo and in vitro models,” laid the foundation for a specialist career with deeper knowledge in translating in vivo and in vivo models to human exposure.

For more than 20 years, Anna has supported chemical businesses and their clients in navigating complex toxicological challenges. Her ability to bridge science, regulation, and industry needs has made her a key figure in the field. She has led EU-wide working groups of toxicologists and health specialists, strengthening the collective understanding of chemical health risks and promoting harmonized scientific evaluations.

Over the past three years, Anna has served as Senior Consultant at Toxicology Knowledge Team Sweden AB (TKT). In this role, she has guided clients through an increasingly complex regulatory landscape — with a special focus on toxicology and human health. She has also been deeply committed to competence development, helping train the next generation of toxicologists and ensuring long-term, sustainable expertise within the field.

With her deep scientific expertise, strategic mindset, and strong dedication to TKT’s mission, her transition into the role of CEO is both natural and highly valuable for the company’s continued growth.

TKT Vision
Toxicology is entering a period of rapid transformation, driven by regulatory shifts, new technologies, and stronger expectations for transparency and sustainability. I am both proud and humbled by the trust placed in me to lead the great team of scientists of TKT.

For our clients and partners, this leadership transition ensures that TKT will continue delivering the high-quality insights, clear guidance, and strategic direction we’re known for, with focus on proactive support, knowledge sharing, and navigating an evolving regulatory landscape. We remain a committed, reliable contributor to advancing shared standards and best practices in toxicology, and a collaborative voice in shaping the future of pharmaceutical development and safety.

TKT vision is to become the obvious choice for industry partners seeking reliable, high-quality toxicology support. A key pillar of this vision is the company’s dedication to training the next generation of toxicologists and ensuring effective knowledge transfer across the field.

“Our responsibility is not only to deliver scientific excellence, but to pass that expertise forward,” says Anna Steneholm, CEO at TKT.

With its focus on practical, actionable toxicology guidance, TKT continues to position itself as a strategic ally to companies navigating safety, regulatory, and product-development challenges.
